Hi i have been trying to copy my tomtom memory card to a biger one but when put it
in my device i get a pic of a card with a red x can someone help

What size card are you trying to copy the contents to? There is a maximum size that model will handle. Also, I think it should be a sd, not a sdhc card.

Even if the size/ type of card is correct if its not fast enough the device will reject the card and display the red cross once powered up, what make of card and where did it come from - Mike

On the card, does it make reference to a class? (Class 6 = 6 meg/sec transfer, class 4 = 4meg/sec transfer, etc.)

There are certain types of SD card you can't use.....

The TomTom Rider 2 will handle bigger than 2 gig cards but they can't be HC or HR or anything like that. Try to find one........Other wise a 2 gig is usually just "plain jane" and they work just fine.......

Topram and Trancend are two makes that offer 4GB SD cards that are true SD rather than SDHC so they would be ok - Mike

rider 2 sd cards

I have just got a rider 2 which was refurbished by tomtom
I only just got the head unit and fitted my 2 gb western europe map card into the unit and got the red cross scenario , is there anything I can do to rectify this,
the sd card was copied from an original tomtom car unit and has worked fine in my rider 1 for over a year
I tried going on home but can't fathom it out
can anyone help
