You can purchase any 2-gig card. I have a 2-gig in my TT510.

I have a Kingston 2GB (standard speed) in mine.

Remember that the memory card will be used INSTEAD of the 1GB internal memory, so you will have to do a backup and then restore to your new card to get all your old settings -- then download the new UK map.

Welcome Bam,
Please let us know what TomTom model you have to help you out.

Local store is fine.

You should check TomToms site, to see what types and size cards you can use.

May I suggest you, and everyone else enter the model of their TomTom into their profile so that no one has to waste their time to ask what it is (see post by Pedro2NR).

Have a look in the TomTom Memory card site to see what type and size of SD card is suitable for your TT (see post by PSJ).

I have a 930 and use a computer discount store 4 GB SDHC card but your model may be different, so have a look at TomTom's site.

Hi, I have a TT 510 and would like to know if this apply to this model.
I bought a 2 GB and can't load a new map.
There is another thread here (Jim T) who said he is using one.

Hi Rebengoa,
The 510 does not have an internal memory. There you will need to copy all the contents of your original memory card and paste it to the new one. If you are replacing the map with a newer map or a different map, then you do not want to copy the map from your original card.
If you are just upgrading the card, then you can copy everything including the map.
What map did you original have?
Which new map are you trying to load?

Hi, thanks for your reply. I tried what you said and worked.
I quess I could now erase the map from this new card and load a
new map because I have this map (USA) ) in the original 1 GB card.

Before you erase anything, make a complete copy of you card contents with windows explorer. Then, use TT Home to first copy the map to your computer. This way it is very easy to reload if you ever need to.

You can safely delete it after this. You could then purchase and download a new map and let Home install it. When you are done, again have Home copy it back to your computer.
