Why after uploading info on a now closed motorway exit does TT still show it as open and functioning on my map?

Because TomTom do not apply the mapshare changes until at least the next issue of an updated map and even then your change may not be reflected.
I have just received my new map under the 4 maps a year update scheme and ALL changes have been ignored. This is both those I advised through MapShare ( Deleted roundabouts, etc.) and those I made on my device (Correct Street Name, etc)

Err... yes and no. MapShare changes are updated live, but:
  • not everything can be fixed using the MapShare features
  • TeleAtlas/TomTom wants to verify fixes before they go out to all TomTom users
  • TeleAtlas/TomTom focuses on the most reported corrections first because they have way more corrections coming in than they can verify and enter by hand.
  • Your MapShare corrections will be shown on your screen immediately if it's a simple fix (like renaming a road)
  • There's a separate database of MapShare fixes for each map revision so you may need to re-enter some fixes.
  • You can ask here (forum: https://www.tomtomforums.com/genera...st-locations-see-if-mapshare-working-you.html) for everyone to make a change, essentially flagging it as a priority change with all of us requesting it but I don't suggest that for new POIs (you'll likely end up with several POIs within a few feet once they process the correction), and don't overuse the feature 'cause then nothing is priority over anything else.

They will catch up, but 2010 is the projection for when they have corrections mostly automated.
