MapShare never updating?

I've had my TT720 for a week, and immediately updated to the latest map and HOME version. Every time I connect I get a warning that my map is 29 weeks out of date and that there are 18000+ (and counting) MapShare corrections. Choosing to Update never finds anything besides GPS quickfix, nor have I ever seen any evidence that and MapShare updated have ever been downloaded. (e.g. one experiment I ran was to to try to delete all corrections on my device, and it said there were none found.)

After two help tickets into Support, the best they could give me was that HOME has "a glitch" and to be assured that I have downloaded all the latest information.

I'm not convinced, and am a little disappointed by the response. Can others confirm this problem, or better yet offer a workaround?

Thanks,
Jim

That message is usually symptomatic of another in a series of tomTom server errors and not a problem on your side.

You may also want to take a glance at this thread: http://tomtomforums.com/showthread.php?t=8583

In the first post, I mention where you can find the mapshare files you have downloaded, if any. Since you say you've had your unit only a week, you indeed may not have seen any mapshare downloads. You would notice them if you run TTHome and click on Update. If there were a mapshare download, it would be obvious to you.

Anyway, bottom line: I wouldn't sweat the message you're seeing. Fortunately the coding for the unit is a heck of a lot better than the coding for the TTHome.

Welcome to the club, since good friday Home is dead.
