MapShare clairification

I guess I was a little confused from the thread in TT News about New Maps. THAT map update is referring to the Dec2006 map update and NOT the map update you will need for MapShare to work correct?

I just called TT Tech support to see if I could order the $6 map update (the map store still seems to be down) and Mary told me that no, it's not $6, but $118 and to keep trying to get the map store to load as she was unable to check (hmm - no access to the external facing website from the help desk...).

Is this what everyone else has understood for a while now and I'm just catching up

If your product shipped with a v7 map you can use the map guarantee feature available in HOME v2. If you have an older map you can use HOME to purchase a new map for half off the regular price. The latest map for North America is currently 49 Euros and that price should be good until January 1, 2008. Basically, use HOME and check for the map you are looking for.

thanks ucooper, that's just what I did. I got the new 715 (i think) maps and I can now use mapshare.

I'm trying to figure it out though. I made a correction and it uploaded, but it still didn't appear on my map. I figured that at least my corrections would appear on my map, but I guess not until someone else verifies? it.

From what I understand-not all corrections will show up. many of the corrections will be reported, checked, and verified by Teleatlas!

Jim is right. Not all reported errors can be reflected by the current version of Map Share. The other thing to check is that you have your Map Share preferences set to use your own changes in addition to those made by TomTom and trusted sources.
