Maps for Camden County MO "one xl.s

I purchased Tomtom for use in finding rual streets in Camden County MO. The map is over 5 years old. Shows pre 911 numbered streets, rather can current name system. Free updating does not help.
Online maps such as Yahoo and Google have been updated long ago.
How can I get this udated. Any suggestions welcome! Thanks. KEN

Did you purchase the unit within the last 30 days? If so, you are entitled to the newest map for free. Tap your satellite bars on the unit. The next screen shows the version number of the FIRMWARE installed. Tap the version number and the next screen shows the MAP version and buid installed.

I believe for your model, you need FIRMWARE 7.9 to make use of the latest v8 MAPS.

If you don't have that, dl it using Homew and install it. Now go to Home's Tools-->Latest Map Guarantee.

If it says you have the latest and you do not think so, call support at 866-486-6866.

Again, you gotta be in the 30 day window of first use.

Map Guarantee: not enough memory

I did the above, have version 8.1,map 715.1712 when attempted to use map guarantee, home begin download than stopped, not enongh memory.
I just discovered the sd slot, it was covered by sticker, If I put in a big sd card will that work? I see xl is either/or is there a problem with where the OS is located?

For your model, the Operating System and Map must reside in the same memory location, either sd card or internal.

Success loading latest map

After spending 1/2 day and taking several unused files off the TomTom, I was able to intstall new map. However, did not solve the original problem; that is out of date map of Camden County MO.

Does anyone know of other ways to get a more current map?
I am waiting on email reply from TomTom support.

The way to get the current map is to connect using Home and click on Add voices/maps, see what's offered as the newest for your unit and purchase it if it indeed is the newest.

Call, don't email, Support for confirmation of what the newest is: 866-486-6866.

Is your new map V815? Sometimes Home doesn't give you the true "latest map".

If you have v815 now, you've got the latest map. So you should submit corrections via mapshare with a comment to add whatever streets are missing in your area. Similarly, submit updates to teleatlas.com and google maps.

This way tomtom might fix what you need in a future map, the next map will probably come out in February. If you see the streets in google maps, your neighborhood will probably be the February update, if it isn't already in v815.

If you don't have V815, call the tomtom's 800# and ask them how to get you map 815.
