Map upload time

how long should it take to upload a new map to a 340? Mine has been going for over an hour

If you are downloading and installing this could take 3 or 4 hours depending upon internet connection etc. If it just the map being transferred to the device it will take around an hour or just over as the device is only using a USB1 interface - Mike

Every time I have uploaded a map to my 340 it has taken 4.75 hours. I'm running Windows Vista, and have been told that it's a bit quicker on Windows XP systems. I have not tried uploading with Windows 7, but don't imagine it's any faster on that system. It seems odd that TomTom would design the device with USB 1.1.

"Penny Pinching" is what we call it when inferiour hardware get fitted to a device such as USB-1 - otherwise its a decent device, lets face it you don't upload a new map to the device too often - Mike
