Map question for Go 700

I am currently using a Pocket PC. But have a chance to pick up a
GO 700. This will free up my Pocket PC. Can I remove the maps from
it and place in the GO 700 or are the Maps specific to the model?

I believe it will not work as the map is tied to your pocket pc.

No it won't work. this is similiar to problem sharing maps on other devices.

I believe that the map, in theory, will work on the TomTom. The problem lies in activating it as it is tied to the PDA. Perhaps if you speak to TomTom customer service they will give you an activation code to allow switching to the new unit.

Didn't the 700 come with a map?
