TomTom Model(s)
XXL540S
I have a TT XXL540S. I want to change the speed limit on sections of a road. I can find the start and finish points of the section of road where the speed limit drops to 80 However when I try to change the speed limit TT asks me to select the From and To points. I can find the From point but how do I select the To point where the limit reverts to 100.
Please help

Have a look at the user guide I wrote a while back, see Here the second part covers what you are looking for, its far from easy though if its a long strech of road - Mike

Thanks a million. This was a desperation bid for help because I was sure it could be done but the TT Manual was no help at all.
Your link to your guide says it is for a Navcore. It looks like the XXL540S screens and I will try it later this evening so is it OK for my TT?
Is there a link to any other sections of your manual because I am sure I would love to read it because as a beginner at GPS there are other problems I encounter as I go along and it would be a big help to have any extra advice available.
Thank you for such a quick response

I don't have an online manual the page I linked to was something I wrote when TomTom introduced the speed limit alteration capability to the software, it should work in exactly the same way on your device, Navcore 8 is the software running on the device, the 8 being the version, your device will be running Navcore 9 which is slightly newer.

Hmm an online manual, I wonder how long that would take to create, its set the brain thinking thats for sure but it would be a nightmare to keep current with all the different devices and options the model range present - Mike

Mike, as far as i know, the 540S did not yet get the Navcore 9 upgrade that was given to the 140 and 340.

Speed Limits in Map Corrections Wrong??

I select a road to change the speed limit, enter the new limit, and then plan a route. It says that the speed limit is one less than the one I entered. Yet when I go back to the device and try to change it, it says it is still correct.

I.E. set local road to 50 MPH
Setup route that uses said road. Shows as 49 MPH speed limit.
Go back into device to reset to 50, says it is already at 50!

TomTom support is useless. Reloaded entire device with latest and greatest, but to the company it is 2008 device, even if purchased new at Walmart for Christmas.

Is there a fix or does this happen to other TT Ones? or other TT devices?

Welcome to TTF.

When you connect to Home, are you offered, by any chance, an updated application?

That is a known bug but I thought it was rectified for some models' updates.

What application do you have installed? Tap the satellite bars and the next screen shows the app version.

Per dhn, try updating your firmware. What you are experiencing is a rounding error where the speed you are entering is being converted (universally) to metric (km/h) and when redisplayed, is rounded down. My 720 used to do that, but stopped quite a few firmware levels ago. What model do you own?

MPH bug - What I have....

I have:

Installed Items = program/Navigator 8.083, eris 1297194027, map/USA_and_Canada 860.3126
* Connected device: "TomTom ONE"

Type: "one2008_t_1024_m"
ttgo.bif file contents:
[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v8)
DeviceSerialNumber=*************
DeviceUniqueID=***************
RamDiskVersion=20090817
BootLoaderVersion=55136
LinuxVersion=343369
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8083
ApplicationVersion=9669
UserLanguage=English US

CurrentMap=USA_and_Canada
CurrentMapVersion=860.3126

It is my guess that it is the firmware, but TomTom support only made me delete the applications and the maps. Nothing about new firmware.

The 1 mph bug was fixed in app 8.350. That app wasn't created for your model (your model was discontinued in 2008).

So there isn't much you can do at this point.
