Map corrections not sticking

Maybe it's just because I'm a newbie TomTom user, but there's one particular thing that's kinda bugging me.

There is a particular intersection in my area where I cannot turn right from one major road onto another major road. It's really pointless to prohibit it, but they did anyway. I have to take the right immediately before the intersection, then go around the block. TomTom thinks that I can turn right where I can't. I decided I'd try to fix it. I picked the first road, chose "cannot turn right onto..." and then picked the second road. After a couple of confirmation screens, TomTom said all was well. After planning a route involving that intersection, though, it still tells me to turn right where I told it that I can't.

I thought maybe the fix wouldn't stick until I connected the device to TomTom HOME, so I fixed it, connected, updated, got off. Fix is still not there.

I've made corrections to street names before that stuck immediately. What gives with this situation?

If I remember correctly, just the simple changes like street names take effect right away. More complex changes are just sent to TT and then they need to correct the map and send it back, which may take much longer.
