Map Correction question.

Hiya,

so far so good on my new one xl... there is one odd thing that when i am heading home....

in canada (toronto) when i get off the highway (dvp) to eglinton west... i have to do a left hand turn onto street (don mills south). For some reason tomtom asks me to go straight and do a u turn and then turn right.

somehow it doesnt know that i can do a left hand turn.

I tried to do a correction but im not sure which option i would pick for that?

If the TomTom KNOWs the street exists, then I would choose the Existing street option as it allows you to Report wrong turns (i.e. if you are not allowed to turn left or right at a specific crossing)

thanx for the quick response... but there is no option there that states you CAN do a left hand turn. only you cannot left nor right.

Is it mistakingly making that road a one way road?...i.e. is the direction wrong? I would try changing its direction...

This is a known issue with the tomtom. many times, it'll want you to do something similar as it doesn't like left turns for some reason.

I see it in a couple of places in my home area and people here complain about it regularly. I don't think there is anything in the way of map correction to address it.

on a side note i have enabled map corrections i deleted all the map corrections as maybe they were causing it? i will report back tomrorow and see if that fixes it.

Also another map correction question... there is a road that does not exist on the map it shows grey... how would one go about adding it as when i click on it it only picks tiny bit of the road not hte whole road...

Are you saying the road is showing, but is greyed out? I haven;t seen anything like that. If this is what you mean you should be able to "unblock" that section.

if there is no road showing, but one exists in reality, you cannot add that to your map. mapshare only allows you to note that deficiency which will be sent to tomtom the next time you upload corrections,

there is no way to add any roads to a map.
