Map Correction - CAN make left turn

Does anyone know how to correct an error that has me going down and making a u turn when it is much safer and closer and convenient to make a legal left turn. the map correction just says CANNOT MAKE LEFT / RIGHT

Why bother ? If you know your way, just keep driving. When my TomTom goofs, I just ignore it.

mostly so that when it goes to plan a route next time it will use the corrections to take the shorter/faster route. even on a return trip, so it recognizes that one can turn at a particular intersection.
