Before updating my Tomtom one 130 I had a Compas that showed direction according to my preferences directly on the main screen. Now after the update, the option is lost, and now instead of having to chose compass options there are options of chosing ...cars (Change car symbol). I want my compas rose dispaly (options) back!!! Not the arrow that is there now in the bottom left of the main screen, but one that shows SE N SW etc, like before in that same spot. Any ideas? I believe I had version 7 point something, but now it's 8.010
Thanks

N8 killed off N7's compass functionality.

Under status bar preference, you can check 'direction' and you'll see direction of travel in degrees and letters (NW, E, etc.)

I agree that the compass rose is a big loss. Especially since the < is difficult to see. Also, it is totally inaccurate. It shows SE when travelling SW (direction shows correct course degree) and can be off by up to 180 degrees.

Sorry but it seems like .... eh, you don't know how to read a compass.

For your testing, if you travel EAST, and the arrow point to the LEFT, then you can say it is RIGHT.
And if you travel SW, and the arrow point to the LOWER RIGHT, then you can say it is RIGHT.

In other words the arrow is pointing NORTH, not your direction of travel. You have to visualize the GPS laying flat like a magnetic compass would. If you are heading EAST, then NORTH is to your left.

Hope that helps. You may have had the old compass set up for NORTH to the top. Then the arrow would have pointed to the right if you are heading EAST because now the ROSE is fixed. It is confusing switching.
