Map activation

Hi, I tried to put a western europe map on my tomtom and i got a message that invalid map code and it doesn't ask to enter a new one, because there is no *.mid file in map dir
any ideas?

How did you obtain the map? From TomTom?

You can't just copy a map to the device. It has to tie in to your device. It won't work. Sorry.
