Been trying for 2 weeks now to get the latest map guarantee, and Home always estimates out at a couple hours minimum, and typically dies 75% of the way through when my connection is working fine. Tried at day, night, morning, seemingly doesn't matter. Is there a way if I get a copy of the latest map to update manually?

You could ask Tom Tom to send you the map on a CD-ROM

Users in a Brit forum are reporting that TomTom is telling them their latest map guarantee servers are down (what else is new?) and to try again in a few days.

And I imagine asking for the cdrom would entail calling their support which I hear so many great things about?

Yes, you would have to call them and ask for it, but that shouldn't give you a problem. The one time that I dealt with them, they took care of my problem quickly, efficiently, and they were very polite. My only complaint was the 30 minute hold time, but that is beyond their control.
