Howdy, I'm really in need of downloading some POIs, but I am running a mac, and so the POI downloads don't work for me. Is there anything I can do about this? All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm attempting to download from here, and the problem is that the files do not show up on my computer as anything useful. Sometimes they come up as blank documents, other times they come up as a PDF of the logo of the POI.

It doesn't matter if the files show up on your Mac as anything "useful" or not - you don't need to open them on the Mac at all. All you need to do is drag the .ov2 (and any related .bmp) into your map folder on the TomTom itself. When you disconnect the TomTom from the computer and it restarts, the new POI files will appear on the TomTom as their own separate POI category. In case you're wondering, I am a Mac user as well, and can tell you with confidence that the above is all you need to do.

If you want your new POIs appear in a pre-existing category, you need to also create a corresponding .inf file to tell it which category the POI file belongs in. I'm sure if you search these forums, you'll find posts explaining what needs to go into the .inf file.
