Looking for an old thread on mount repair

A few months back I remember reading a thread about how to open the suction windshield mount and repair it to keep it from sagging from the weight of the unit. I believe it dealt with wrapping the ball with felt, but not sure.
Now I can't find the thread, even with the search. Would appreciate if anyone can direct me to it.
