Live Services Down?

New to the site...so I hope I'm posting in the right section.
I just purchased a 740 Go Live. I updated everything via the Home application. The GPS seems to be working normally except I can't connect to any of the Live service. If I go to the Version Information -> Network section it shows as Status "Connecting" sometimes I'll see 4 - 5 bars full....other times none. When the bars are full I have values next to MCC/MNC & SIM ID. I always have values next to IMEI and Model. Either way it never seems to get passed the "connecting" stage.

Is Live down or did I get a bum unit? I called support but they weren't much help. The person said the server may be down...but even he didn't seem to know for sure. Is anyone else able to connect and use Live services?

Thanks for the reply. I called TomTom again and although the second person was more helpful she told me that Live services were "down"...of course she didn't know this until all troubleshooting attempts have failed. Being that others can connect to Live services I guess the 740 goes back to Amazon and I go back to Garmin. One shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get key features in a GPS to work.

Is the App version running on your device 9.054 - you mentioned you updated everything there?

The Navcore 9 has problems with LIVE services on x40 devices - you would have to downgrade back to Navcore 8.

Instructions are there all over this forum - please search for it and do accordingly.

My wife and I both have our own 740 Lives with the latest maps and software. Both are able to connect to live services. I know there was an issue recently, but I believe that most of those problems have been resolved. At least in the States, not sure about your side of the pond.

Depends if SpartanX - the OP - is in Europe or in the USA.

But the 740 is European Maps only is it not?

I thought 540 is the one with US maps only?

Or am I wrong?

The 940 has both Europe and US maps - though to put the latest European Maps that were offered for my 940, I had to move the US maps onto the SDHC card to make enough room on the internal disk.

SpartanX - go to Tomtom HOME and run "Operate my GO". See if LIVE services work there for you. If so, it's possible that AT&T has an outage in your neighborhood.

The GO 540 LIVE has local country maps.
The GO 740 LIVE has local continent maps
The GO 940 LIVE has dual-continent maps

We only have a GO 740 LIVE in the USA (no GO 540 LIVE nor GO 940 LIVE), and it comes with USA/Canada maps. The GO 740 LIVE sold in the UK would have Western Europe maps.
