Live HD traffic in the UK broken?

Bought a 550 Go with 12 months free subscription to Live services two weeks ago. Worked fine for a few days, then last Friday I noticed it wasn't connecting to the network.

Contacted support who admitted there were issues at their end, should it be sorted out by "early next week"

Over the weekend, after a few factory resets all the services except traffic returned. Now support have tried a number of things but I'm still told by the device that I don't have a subscription to HD traffic despite the TomTom telling me I still have 11.5 months left! Google search is working fine.

So, did anyone in the UK experience a loss of network connection last week? If you did, has your traffic service returned to normal? I'm waiting for email support to contact me again, but I'm wondering if this is specific to me, or more widespread?

I specifically bought a new TomTom to get the traffic service over the next couple of month as I'm "commuting" 200 miles a day and if I get stuck in serious traffic I might have a sense of humour failure!
 
Last Friday afternoon I don't think anyone had any Live services in the UK, they are certainly working again by now though so the issue must be with your account/ settings on the server at TomTom, try giving them a ring on 0845 161 0009 - Mike
 
Thanks Mike. I've phoned them twice now and have an outstanding email support request. I'll see if I can get through before they close tonight.

Hi iv had similar problems logging on to google server although my traffic is fine i can no longer access weather or google im now at a loss as to what to do??
Im also told my account is fine?

Try a "restore factory settings" or "restore factory defaults" which you can find on the device in the change preferences menu, you will then have to re-enter details such as your account name, home location etc - Mike
 
Hiya just got a XL Live IQ Routes Edition TT was fine for like 2 days then, HD traffic dont work anymore.
Ive reset, both ways factory reset and holding the on/off button for 15 seconds, still no joy.

Thought it was something i done, so i when an brought the 12 months update package.

Now my subscribtion runs out july 2012, all thats good, but still aint got HD traffic.

My account is working,

Some times i get that yellow triangle sign, Or when i planning the route the HD traffic Just does that busy thing,

Will be greatfull if anyone can help, many thanx inadvance.

Hi all,

Calling support is one option, but they are quite busy these days. If you have a bit of patience, you would do better emailing them than waiting 10-20 minutes for help.
Even with the answering delays on the phone, in the U.S., we find it is much quicker to contact customer support that way. email can take a good deal longer to be answered, and too often the answers are not responsive to the question and a lot of email back and forth is required (taking days) that is avoided by phone.

I speak about European support. US Support will vary a bit.
It may be a good idea to send an email with your system information, then call. This way everything needed will be in their systems already.
Interesting concept. Does U.S. tech support even have visibility to emails that we send - to Europe?
 
loss of live services

i have also lost hd traffic spoke to tt today they said they would have to re set account settings there end but seems funny how everyone seems to have had the same problem :mad:
