910GO VIA125 LIVE
Just purchased a Live 125 after reading all the plus and minus comments from various sites and seems to fit my bill so to speak. I had a 910 GO which I purchased new but I had connection problems with the charging....its not the battery just a wobbly connection from being used in my Iveco truck which shakes and shudders down some of the roads I have to travel and its badly worn.....anyway I digress.

My question is the 4GB internal flash memory, it says on the Tom Tom website that it does not have a memory card slot but it does, confused ? I am ? is this functional ?

or is there a setting somewhere within the device or is it enabled by some code?

Any help gratefully appreciated...:thumb:

Also must say after paying £395 for my 910GO about 5 years ago this seems a real bargain with more features and a years free roadside assistance....

The Halfords sales chap tried to sell me the Homer special edition western Europe for £195 but I asked hime what was inside and he said a voice. ( that you can download for a couple of quid on the Home page ) but asked for the normal one and they gave the the Homer one anyway for £149....:D

The software to enable the use of sd cards for those models with slots hasn't been released yet. hopefully soon........

And welcome to TTF!

Interesting....

Only a couple of days ago, I went through the specs for EVERY current model on the TT website (results posted on another forum here) and I'd agree it definitely said that ALL the LIVE versions of the VIA don't have card slots.

Typical TomTom mis-information.
It seems the only way to get the true picture is to go to a shop and buy one!

To the OP: if all you're concerned with is Europe in general, you'll be OK with that 4GB for a good while.

To Andy: yeah, the usual TT poor specs on the web. I wonder if we really pared our list down to a couple of important features like this (even though firmware to make a uSD card may be a few months off), whether some of our friends would help us update things to get them right?

I've posted a question 'elsewhere' now. Is that where you meant?

Possibly. I was thinking of posing it in a more general fashion - along the lines of "What the heck models DO have slots, please, even if not yet functional?" vs. asking only about the one in question. As you noted, the GO1535 doesn't show a slot in the specs, either, but if you pry loose the nifty little TomTom cover on the 'bottom' (or top, depending upon how you mount it!) there it is.
