So I just got my 630 from Dell, went through all the updates, then selected "use latest map guarantee" in Home. It tells me that my latest map guarantee has expired. It also tells me that my map is 3 quarters old.

My assumption is this thing was produced 3 quarters ago, which is why the map is old.

So is there a way to get the latest map through Home, or do I have to call support and hassle with them?

Seems to me the unit should have an activation date recorded after it's first setup to prevent this in the future. Pretty basic technology. Makes me a little concerned about the quality, although after one trip everything works fine.

Call support at 866-486-6866.

Home's LMG functionality doesn't work well at all.

On my second attempt to contact customer support. First time I gave up after 40 minutes on hold. Now I'm up to 25 minutes. This is ludicrous. Other than the Bluetooth issue and trying to get the latest map I'm very happy with the 630. Plus I got a great deal through Dell ($162) so I'd hate to have to return it, but I'm starting to lean that way.

Finally got through, uploaded my receipt and got the map sent to me. It was simple and painless to download and install it through HOME, although all my favorites were erased. Fortunately I only had it for a week and only had a few favorites.

loosing favorites in normal with map upgrades this will heppen everytime you update your map.

The way around this is to create a Poi folder and call it something like ( #1 favorites ) or something that is easy to find then put all you favorites in that folder and then when you do map updates you won't loose them and you can always copy them back to your favorites folder.
