Hi,

I just purchased and installed the 8.15 maps for my 720 last night. I was wondering if anyone had the latest 920/930 POI files that would correspond with the 8.15 maps. Any help would be appreciated. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours.

I have the poi's from three maps, NA 810.1907, NA 815.2109 and USA/Canada 815.2022 - the 810 poi file is 285 megs and the largest of the three - I hope we can identify which map contains the more preferred POI set -- then we can look at sharing.

Mule

You will need the 815 database for a 815 map. The 810 database will not work with 815 maps. Sure the 810 database is larger in size (megabytes wise) but the reason the 815 appears smaller is only because of new compression methods. If you have map 815, use the 815 database.

The 810 database will work with maps 810 and earlier versions.

I'm going to upload both files into a single zip file for everyone here to make things easier, rather than having to download 2 separate files. I'll post the link when the upload is complete.

Another thing I should point out is that TomTom ONE models do not use the "crpoi.dat" file. They only use the "poi.dat" file. You don't have to copy "crpoi.dat" to your TomTom ONE model unit.

I have uploaded both 810 and 815 database files for everyone. I created a new thread so that way we have an easy and clean way to find these files. The link below will direct you to the new thread.

In a past thread about upgrading to the large POI database at:

https://www.tomtomforums.com/showthread.php?t=9199&page=7

Arno provided a link to download an 815.2019 NA map specific brand folder, as it was also supposed to be replaced, in addition to the crpoi.dat and poi.dat files. Could it be that this is no longer necessary, as the existing 94 .bmp icon files in that download look a lot like what's already on my 720, which is at 8.320/v815.2019?

Thanks for the POI files

Thanks very much for uploading the 920 POI files for 8.15 maps on my 720. I appreciate the help. Cheers.
