just how tough is a tomtom one?

well, pretty darned tough if you ask me. on the way home this afternoon on my motorcycle, the tomtom fell off between 65-70 mph. immediately i turned around figuring to find it in at least a hundred pieces. except for the scuff marks on the face of it, it is working just fine. none the worse off for wear and tear that a 70 mph skid across the highway did to it.

i won't make that mistake again though. i will procure a better mount for it before it rides again.

whew! and i just purchased it today too.

was thinking of maybe trying out the nuvi, but i guess i will stick with this now. i don't think they will take this one back now.

it wasn't on the freeway but was a 4 lane road.

I tried about using mine on my motorcyle, but without a headphone jack it's not easy to use. I put it in the map holder on the tankbag. I wish someone here would post how they added a jack to it.

Cool. TomTom ought to give you a new one for giving them a story like that. I have dropped mine a couple fo times and they apparently do bounce!!
