Itinerary error?

I have a TT One with itinerary capabilities. Not sure which model.

I have generated an itinerary that should be valid. I have inputted Lat/Long and check the route with third party software. It appears continuous and valid. I have done this numerous times before with sucess. However with this particular itinerary I get an error message "no route found" when I attemp to process the route via "Fastest Route" routine. But when I use the "Shortest Route" routine I get a successful route development. The route appears to be valid. I have checked it in Tomtom but have not acutually driven the route. Any suggestion?

Do you have any restrictive preference choices in planning such as 'avoid toll roads' or 'avoid highways' which may be affecting the routing algorithm?

No. I just rechecked and I no such restriction.
Can you follow that route in Google maps.

Is the fastest route going via a mountain pass?
When I planned in June, even Google would not let me cross the Beartooth highway from Billings, MT to the NE entrance of Yellowstone even though the passes open in mid May. In July there was no problem.

Yes it checks out perfect in Google Maps. I also use a program called TRYE which in turn utillizes Google maps and again the routing is continuous.

Note. When I use "shortest route" and get a successful routing TT send me off on all sorts of side roads? Sometimes going back on itself?

Im not trying to steal any thunder here but I have been creating routes quite a bit lately and found that when I create an itinery, that I have to use the shortest route option so that it doesnt try and use the IQ route.....selecting the "shortest route" not using IQ routes will give you the exact route that you planned. Just wanted to jump in and offer that little bit of info.....:)

I have an old TT One and it does not have IQ. In addition I had added this note above:

Note. When I use "shortest route" and get a successful routing TT sends me off on all sorts of side roads? Sometimes going back on itself? Sometimes going across open fields? Totally bazzar.

Thanks for the suggest though.

I am not so happy with an itinerary I just made with two way points at corners of the city.
Shortest route ended up with 99 km and 2:38.
Fastest, no specific time (IQ average) at 157 km and 1:16.
Particularly outstanding is one way point where fastest was 25 min and 38.2 km versus shortest at 34.7 km and 1 hour, 2 minutes.
That one lead through lots of small streets in the older residential part of the city which has a lot of 30 km/h restrictions.
That definitely wouldn't be the route I wanted.
Cheers,
Arno

Call of the dogs. I have thrown in the towel. I completely re-did the itinerary and it now works. The old version (same) still will not find the route. Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of computers. Thanks for the effort.
