Itinerary and the 140s

I'm wondering if there is an easier way to accomplish this. I like to drive to work a certain way, and that differs from the way TomTom sends me if I just leave the house and nav to "work".

So, when I went my way as I took the exit I wanted, 3 before TomTom wanted, I set a favorite. Then, along the route I was now on, I set another favorite. From these 2 favorites and the final destination of "work" I built an itinerary. Now, when I leave for work I go to "itinerary planing" and pick my saved itinerary and go. However, sometimes the 2 waypoints and the destination are already marked as "visited" and I have to reset them as not.

So I guess what I'm wondering is if one is privy to a better route somewhere due to knowing local roads and their behavior is there a way to "correct" TomTom to take that route?

I haven't seen saved itineraries auto-mark waypoints as visited before. Are you tapping "options" then "load itinerary" to open it up?

What's the reason you don't like Tomtom's way? Perhaps you can make some edits with mapshare? If you want to post the exits/route we can look into it.

Yes, I do use that way to open it up., but first I need to select the first waypoint and mark it as "to visit".

The road that TomTom wants me take (RT 62 in MA) is somewhat busy in the morning and not a very nice ride. The road that I want to take (RT 97) is more pleasant and scenic. They both get you there in the same amount of time, but the latter is nicer.

Strange - perhaps it was saved as "visited"? Maybe mark it as "to visit" then re-save the itinerary. Otherwise that's a pretty annoying bug.

Tomtom must think 62 gets you there a minute or two sooner, that's why it chooses it. If there's a section of route 62 that you never go to, you can erase it in mapshare by using the block/unblock road functionality (just don't share it with others when prompted). Once you erase it Tomtom won't take you there even on midday/weekends, so make sure you choose a part of Rt 62 that you never want to take.

Yes, I thought of that, but I don't think that will insure it routes me to the way I WANT to go, just eliminate the road I DON'T WANT.

There are other local examples of this. I realize one could say "if you know how you want to go, why use a GPS?". But I like it for the arrival time and distance to turns functionality in this case.

I guess I think it would be cool if after you vary from a route some number of times it would ask "is this the route you prefer to this destination?". But I know that is an enhancement.

Thank you for the reply.
