Is XL-S an Orphan?

I am asking this question in this forum as it is very difficult to find any info. regarding the XL-S. It may be that they did not make this model for very long.

I need a replacement battery. Web searches bring very mixed results. Some 'suppliers' of batteries say that the XL battery is the same as the XL-S battery. Others say it is different.

How do I find the truth?

I really need a battery. Does anyone know of a supplier?

I talked to these guys yesterday.

They 'think' the standard XL battery will fit.

Standard XL number given to me was F724035958.

My XL-S had the following number battery, F735008437.

Anyone have any other information?

One thing you might want to consider is the connector on the end of the battery cable, most (but not all) TomTom batteries have a three wire three pin plug, the XL IQ which is a very similar model to yours has a five wire/ five pin plug attached to the battery. To see if the device looks anything like the one you have got have a read of This Thread where I detailed swapping out the battery on an XL IQ - Mike

I have the old battery out of my XL-S, and it has a three wire plug.

It came apart differently than your unit, but I did not have much of a problem opening it up.

I have the old battery out, my problem is finding a replacement.

Per of the issue is that this model wasn't released for long. It was launched and discontinued in 2007.

It may be easier (and not much more expensive) to look for a newer model on clearance. Other than the cellphone traffic/weather data, all of the XL3xx series that end in an "S" have the same features as the ONE XLS.
