There is something you can do that will help.

The bmp size for POIs is either 22x22 or 24x24 - I can't recall which.

You can add a second bmp at hte size of 44x44 and set an alert for your POI to warn you when within X (your choice). At that point, the larger icon will flash in the top left corner of the unit as the proximity alarm goes off. Viola.

Note that this is for TomTom ONE 3rd Ed. I can't speak for others.

When you load the second bmp to your TomTom, make sure it uses the EXACT name (capitalization counts) and add "_X2" to the name.

So...if you orignal icon is called "starbucks.bmp", name this one "starbucks_X2.bmp".

Yeah, I found the option to alert me of the POI.

I noticed there's a bug in the system though. I unchecked to alert me about schools but it still alert me about schools.

Maybe when I update it, it will fix it.
