hello to all
so i take it that the new software update. turn the 540 into 550.???

Huh???

The new software app (9.430) was made available for pretty much all models not on the new platform of Navcore 10.x+

And it does NOT turn a 540 (with essentially the full menu options) into a lesser 550 that came with EasyMenu and many reduced functions.

Nor would you want it to...........

thanks the reason i ask was a while back. i did the mod that was posted here, to my 550
which gave me the missing icons. and other missing items taken from the 540.

Does the latest (9.430) firmware break the use of the *.mnu files necessary to get back the added features that are missing on a 550? I think that's what he is asking, and I really don't know the answer to that. Haven't tested here to see what happens.

go to post 17 that is how i updated my 550 a while back. and with the new upgrade on the 540.i thought it is almost the same lay out, as the 550 minus the easy menu.
that is why i ask. were they trying to turn our 540 into a 550.

With the new firmware:

If you have a 540, you will still have the better of the two menu systems, better even than a 550 with the mods.

If you have a 550, it may not be possible to get back the enhanced menu system (closer to a 540) with the old tricks.
