For the last 24 hrs I have been trying to purchase the 7.20 US map update for my One XL. 9 times now, my purchase has been "denied" because, as I found out after contacting my bank, the purchase is coming from outside the US and they block all non-US purchases as fraud protection. Now, I know what you might be thinking... "why not try another payment method?" ... well, I'm a step ahead with that. Not only did I try a couple of times each from three differnt bank accounts (same bank, same fraud stop), but from two different CCs on two different companys along with a generated CC via PayPal. So, I just don't get it. Does TomTom have a really bad rep with the US financial community? I know I can't be the only soul to have this.. unless Mr. Murphy decided that I would only carry credit cards from banks that do this.
Also, while trying to understand what is going on I have read alot of post about issues getting a good map update. Either the map doesn't have the detail, or TT Home won't download the map, or the persons TT Home account was corrupt etc... and many, many post about how "worthless" TT support is. I'm now so dismayed... I may have to Ebay my OneXL and go with a Magellen or Garmin unit.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom or knowledge that this is just a "glitch" in the system and I have nothing to fear and should call TT support? Is there an alternative, US based way to purchase map updates? Am I just S.O.L. and I must either live with the old map or Ebay away?
