wondering if anybody else ever gets what appears to be interference with their gps signal? i have to travel along I-20 between Columbia, SC and Camden, SC twice a week. at some point before i get to camden i notice that the gps has me out in the middle of the woods and trying to recalculate my route back out to I-20. as i get closer to the camden exit it will slowly bring the cursor back into the correct position showing me back onto the interstate. you can watch it, it's a slow progression from the middle of the woods back onto the interstate.

Im not sure if you are experiencing a loss of GPS signal because of the woods. If so an external antenna will help.

Or if your experiencing a map error as if the road was off and the cursor(you) is moving trying to force it's way back on the road.

I've had the same thing happen to my Tomtom V4. I'll be driving down the highway and all of sudden Tomtom think's I'm off course. I had Tomtom Navigator 5 on a Palm and never had that.

it's hard too tell. the interstate in this area is wide open, so it's not the trees. there are three very large towers a ways off of the interstate. that could be the culprit. i never really noticed it before until i loaded up a couple of poi's and i was kind of paying attention to the gps to see if it was going to warn me when i approached the poi. i'm not sure what frequency the gps signals are at. i would think probably in the 2.4 ghz range and if so, i would think there wouldn't be any interference. so far, this is the only place i've ever noticed this happening. so, maybe a map glitch, maybe not.

Cell phone interference

I used to notice some screen jittering from time to time from my GSM cell phone, when it was right next to my old Magellan. It this tended to happen when it was pulling down emails / etc, which might tend to happen if you are in a weaker rural area and then get closer to civilization again.
