I'm trying to install this on an '03 Triumph America. Has anyone done the wired install on a bike? Did you attach it directly onto the battery, or somewhere in the wiring?
I mounted an auxilary plug (cigeratte lighter) via the battery and a fuse, I mounted this to my windshield bracket and just plug the TT into it, mine is just the TT One XL which is not waterproof so I just carry a zip lock bag to put over it in case it rains or just take it off and put it in my saddle bag, I also used the Ram Mounts for the TT http://www.scootworks.com/shop.cgi/page=partshonhandle.htm/SID=PUT_SID_HERE and this is how it looks
You can see the plug on the left by the windshield.
Thanks to all. I ended up disconnecting the peanut bulb in my headlamp and using that. It's an unnecessary parking lamp, so I get a switched, fused, circuit.
NOW, the question is, how do I tell if it's working beyond just seeing if the battery dies? The battery indicator doesn't seem to indicate anything.
When it is in the dock and your bike is running, the unit is charging. It does not indicate that. It would only indicate if the battery is going low (as in....not docked).
