In a mess with my TomTom Go 5000

I had a corrupt map on my internal memory. I eventually got rid of it and now have no maps on device. The map is to big for internal memory and sd card has been fully formatted and not showing on my drive connect (greyed out). Device won't move beyond no maps on device, please re install......and I can't! Desperately need device and my drive to recognise 32gb micro sd card. HELP!!

You must have the option to install a smaller map or install the map without buildings on the internal memory of your GPS.

You can also try to format the SD with your computer then reinsert it into the GPS so that it formats it again.

Thanks I scrolled down to the bottom and found a map that fits. Hopefully I can format the card in device afterwards

OK device has recognised and formatted sd card for maps. My drive Connect is still showing memory card greyed out. I can't put back the map I want

Press the on/off button until you hear the sound of the drum and the device restarts, then check if the SD is recognized on Mydrive connect.

Could the SD be defective? do you have another SD to try?

On both sd card and (most important) internal memory, it pays off to have the tinyest map you can find in addition to the map you are regularly using, just so there is a map for the device to fall back on if ever the main map gets corrupted.

I used to use Deutsch-Süd-West for that purpose.
(Or rather its current version.)

Thanks I've got a map to fit now. I have a second go 5000 that I got from ebay. Trying to add it to my account. It knows it is registered elsewhere and tells me that If I register on my account it can't be used on the sellers account. Trouble is I keep getting something went wrong. It is not currently possible to add your device. Please try again. What could be wrong?

On GO 5000 if you don't have an SD card you can only install a Europe or Europe map without buildings.
