How to update the map...

Hey, i'm new here and i got a tomtom a couple months ago. recently, i tried (for the first time) to update my map... and with no luck... i'm so confused on how to do this... i have that free 30 day map guarantee thing that i still have not activated... is there any other way to update the map??? sorry this post probably is really confusing but i'm confused as hell too :/

First of all which map do you have?I had to contact TomTom support ,very easy ,but if you say you got your TT several mnths ago it may be too late,I'd still try support though .

If I am not mistaken, it does not matter if you "Registered" the device or not, once you start using it, TomTom support knows it. I inadvertently deleted my Map using TT home for the first time, called support, without even asking me when i bought the device the guy on the line knew it had been in operation for 10 days.
