How to update maps on TomTom GO630

I recently just purchased this GPS and have no experience at all with them. I was wondering if anyone can explain to me how to work this GPS and how to update it.

Maps are updated using the Home software that should have come with your unit. Or, you can go here:
How do I install TomTom HOME?

and get a fresh copy of Home directly from TomTom.

If the unit is new, you have 30 days to get the latest (855) map of North America using Home's Latest Map Guarantee.

And make an Explorer, not Home, backup of your unit's contents.
