This may see stupid question, but I still can’t seem to figure out how to mount TomTom Go 720 using provided windshield holder and adhesive disk for windshield mount.

Any help?

Also, is there any better solutions for mounting?

Thanks,

The adhesive disk is if you want to mount the unit on the DASH, not the WINDSHIELD.

For the windshield, use a bit of spit to moisten the inside of the suction cup, then with the thumb and forefinger of each hand, press the suction cup against the windshield. Press firmly as if you are trying to press the air out of the cup -- because you are.

Once it is attached, THEN, slide the unit in the pedestal mount attached to the cup. May take a time or two to get the placement properly to slide the unit onto the mount.

Probably easier to attach the usb connection of the car charger to the bottom of the unit before sliding the unit onto the pedestal.

Not sure you're asking what I think you're asking, but I think the adhesive disk is only used if you want to mount your TomTom to your dash. If you're using the windshield mount, you just firmly press it to your windshield and it should stay. If you want to remove it, just pull the little plastic tab on the suction cup to release it.

oops, nevermind. dhn beat me to it...

Thank you all.

So, that means that If I want to dash mount, I stick that round glued disk to dash and then put suction cup on this?

The disc is for mounting it to your dashboard. You adhere it to your dashboard so the suction cup will have something to stick to. You don't need the disc for sticking it to your windshield. Get it moist and slap it up there.

I didn't want to mount my 720 on the windshield, so I bought one of the air vent mounts made specifically for the 720 on ebay. Paid about $8.00 including shipping. It fits on the air vents on my Camry really well and is easy to remove.
