Hi All,
Here's how you can install an EasyMount to a clean flat surface: (it seems counter-intuitive and so I thought I'd post it here. I had trouble with it at first, but now it sticks like Spiderman)
- Make sure that the surfaces are clean. A bit of soap and water worked well.
- Pinch the 2 suction tabs TOWARDS the EasyMount dial (YES, this is the counter-intuitive part!)
- Place the mount on the surface and you'll notice that it already seems like it's stuck
- With your other hand, apply pressure and turn the locking dial clockwise (to the right) while the tabs are pinched towards the dial.
VOILA! It should stick there for a while!
Hope that helps someone. I was about to call support for my XL 340s mount and then I figured this out with trial and error.
At first, I tried to hold the tabs down to the mounting surface, but that never worked. The mount didn't stick at all. Then, when I noticed the notches for the tabs on the dial, I thought it would make sense to pinch the tabs together.
Good luck!
