How many different maps can you have on a TomTom One V2 (refurbished USA model) at the one time?

I currently have the Australian maps on my TomTom One and was wondering if it is possible to have maps for more than one country on the GPS at the same time, or do I need to load the maps for the other country onto an SD Card?

Unless you're adding only one or countries, there likely won't be room. How much internal memory do you have left?

Your device will handle a 2GB SD card, and this will allow you room for all of Europe or N.A., for example. What do you wish to add?

The map I want to add is only 28.8 MB.

So if I do indeed have enough room on my internal HDD it is possible to use the 2 x different maps as required, is that what you are hinting at?

If you have 28.8MB to spare, and as long as you know that the unpacked size of the new map fits that space, you're in good shape. There's a setting in preferences for "Manage maps" that allows you to switch back and forth between them. If you shift away from your current country to the other, your TomTom will, upon discovering where it is, ask if perhaps you might want to do it in the event that you haven't already done it manually.

I keep all of North America and Europe on my 720, although I use an SD card due to the size. Switching back and forth is easy. Once you swap to the other map using "Manage maps", you can plan routes there, browse the map there, etc.

Have been pondering what you originally posted, and just realized that you noted you have the U.S. version of the V2 unit. If so, that one actually has everything on the SD card to begin with - no internal memory - but you made it sound like you'd consider adding an SD card, as though it didn't already have one. The European model of the V2 (aka the "Limted Edition" in the U.S.) would have 1GB internal memory and an SD card slot. Which configuration do you have?

My error, I thought I had a US/Canada V2 as that is what is stamped on the box it came in, I now know (thanks to you) it is the European V2 as it has the 1GB internal memory with an SD card slot and it "came with US/Canada Maps".

I have 821MB of free space on the internal memory so I'll install the 28.8 MB map onto that.

Thanks for time and patience in sorting this out for me.
