...correct an incorrect navigation?

I have a TomTom 920(T). Every now and then I'll navigate to an address and it'll be off by, what I would consider to be a significant amount. I'm sure it's possible, but I don't know how, to correct the exact location so that way in the future (and for others) it will be spot on?

I know this seems very basic, but I've never used the Map Share feature, so I'm new to this. Please be gentle.

If the specific location is not where the TomTom places it (we're talking a street/address) then you can only report it, not make a change that'll show up on your own map.

By reporting it, you hope that TT will verify the correction and the true location will appear on a future map. The key word is 'hope'

Anyway, there are two ways to do that:
1. On the unit itself, Map Corrections, correct a map error, arrow right, Report other error, arrow right, other, (you now have choices: On map, By name, Near You and Near Home). So, say you select 'On Map'. The next screen shows where you are on the map. You can select 'done' and the next screen is a keyboard to describe the error. Something like 'Destination inaccurate by 1/4 mile south'.

You'll be asked if you want to share change with others. Say 'yes'

Then click on 'done' and work your way back to main screen. The next time you connect to Home, your correction file will get ul to TT for the verification process.

I said there are 2 ways. The second is to simply go here. This is the map correction page at TeleAtlas, the company owned by TT and TT's map supplier.

Follow the appropriate links to make the correction there. In truth, using your computer keyboard to type what you want to describe will be a great deal easier than using the dinky keyboard on the 930.
