How do I get HOME v2.1?

Hi, I have a brand spanking TT Rider 2. The disc that came with it installs the HOME V1.5
I want to replace it with the latest V2.1, but when I go to the TomTom website and download HOME, I just get the V1.5.

With the V1.5 I dont get the option of the "latest map guarentee". My new unit is loaded with map version 667, when I am learning it should have 7.1.

Any help would be much appreciated, as I am growing somewhat frustrated by the horrid TT web site and its extremely inadequit support features.

Cheers,

Rick in Canada

ps: I have posted similiar request in the TT rider section, but am hoping for wider distribution of my request.

I think the 1.5 software should notify you upon installation if a newer version of HOME is available (which obviously there is) and give you the option to download it or there should be an update option somewhere in 1.5. I know when I installed HOME when I bought my Go 720 a few weeks ago it was an older version of the software and I was asked if I wanted to dl the newer ver. 2.1.

Or perhaps Home 2.1 isn't yet available for the RIDER (could be wrong). I noticed on the TT site that the downlaod file for Home for the GO and ONE is more than double the size than the RIDER Home download.

Yes, when I did that, it would state I had the latest version.

geez

Cheers!

Well, after much farting around, I have found the mystical magin V2.1. I had to actually go to the UK site, and "tripped" across it by using the support section over and over again. It does show the Rider2 as using 2.1.

My goodness, the Support site and web site in general for TT is probably the worst I have come across in an awful long time.

When I used the feature to check for the latest map, it says my unit has the most up-to-date map. I believe this to be not so,as there is a V7.1 available which actually shows the street names and poi's for my home town.

Once the holidays are over with, I will phone the support number and see if I get anywheres with them.

Cheers!

well, here's the deal

I had installed HOME 2.1 using the UK site

I finally got ahold of a rep on the phone (an hour wait)

Seems the 2.1 is not compatable with the TT R2, hence the shut down problem.

I re-installed 1.5 and no further issues.

But, you dont have that "latest map guarentee" feature.

It took a wee bit of coaxing, but TT gave me the latest map available for the TT rider2. It is v675. Apparently the v7.10 isnt compatable for our Rider 2.

The 675 does show the street names and poi's that were missing in the v667 that was in my new unit.

The girl actually stayed on the phone to assist me with the removal of 2.1 and installing the new map on my Tom.

I am happy again.

Cheers!
