TomTom Model(s)
GO 5200, GO Discover
My wife and I each have a TomTom satnav (GO 5200 and GO Discover) and also have the mobile phone app on our phones as backup. I have discovered that we cannot both use our devices separately but simultaneously on different journeys if they are both logged into the same MyDrive account - whoever sets a Destination latest will cause the other satnav to switch to that Destination, causing chaos. Hence we each have our own separate MyDrive account.

However, we by and large need the same list of My Places Favourites. What I need is a method of copying my wife's list of Favourites from her MyDrive account into my own MyDrive account, possible by exporting the data into a files on a Windows desktop PC and then importing it into my own MyDrive account.

I cannot find any up-to-date instructions on TomTom Support explaining how this can be done - can anyone advise ?

The solution is to disconnect from Mydrive on the 2 GPS you reconnect to Mydrive only to transfer a route or a list of favorites.

Yes, I can see how that would work. But it would be a cumbersome way of working because only one of the four devices (two satnavs and two phones) could be logged into MyDrive at any one time. Each device would have to be logged in, sync'd and logged out for each change to the Favourites list.

If there was a simple way to copy items between accounts, each user could leave their satnav and phone permanently logged into their own MyDrive account, and then just copy any changes between the two accounts.

For the moment Tomtom has not released this option to copy our favorites and routes to a computer.

Although TomTom hasn't released an option, someone else has!
I think you will find that the information here will be of assistance:

The solution is quite restrictive if you have to do it regularly
And it seems to me that GO Discover does not accept files in ov2?

Ah. Yes. Forgot which model the OP had. Another reason I'm still mad at TomTom for dropping *.ov2 custom POI support!
