Home won't find my tomtom one

Hi everyone, I keep getting the message no tomtom device is connected to this computer. I am running xp professional. It is charged and connected by usb. Help. myj697

Is the unit on? As in, you connected the unit to the computer and tapped yes to connect to the computer?
