I bought [two] XL 335 TM :D:D

Can I register at TT with just one account and update both units separately?

Or do I have to create two accounts one for each unit?

Oh by the way did I tell you I bought TWO!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I am going to do the backup first and follow the instructions for what to do first.

A SEPARATE email address for each unit!

Doesn't even have to be a real email address, only in the proper form of (e-mail address removed)

HINT: (trust me on this............) Put a little sticky or something on the back of each unit and number them 1 & 2. Then make a note somewhere that 1 = email address 1 and 2 = email address 2.

Interesting you should suggest that. Granted, I'm running a 720 and a 740, so Home should never confuse the two, but I thought Home operated exclusively off the serial number? Home always seems to pick the right unit when I plug in, and pops up the right email address in the upper right (so far!). It's been reliable to the point that I really don't pay special attention to it now.

What happened to you that caused you to say "Trust me on this?" Now you've got me worried!

I have found over the past week or so that Home2 has lost the ability (at least for me) to differentiate models when you first connect to Home.

This is one of the few things Home did properly. (notice the past tense?)

Have you recently picked up a new version of Home? I haven't seen one in a while. At present, I'm at 2.7.6.2056 and so far (fingers crossed), it's been OK keeping my units straight.

Even so, once correctly connected, I still go through the headache of forcing it to use two separate sets of folders of my choosing for file transfers. Pain to change them in the Home setup when I swap devices, but avoids real messy problems if anything ever does go south.

It's not Home as such (I have the same version), it's the interplay between Home & the revised tomtom site that is the issue, I think.
