I updated to Home 2.6 as directed by Home 2.3. When I did so I Iost some of the home tools i.e. operate my tom tom, updates and maps. I called tech support and they told me to uninstall 2.6 (I did) and reinstall it (I did). No change in the functionality of home 2.6. Spoke to four different tech support and the last said we know this is a problem you need to go back to 2.3 (I did). Now I get a message that the maps are out of date I need to update. I go to update and it states my map is over a year old (mind you I bought it in December 2008) and updated it once when I bought it. So when I go to buy the new update I am told I need to buy the newest map and I need to bring the 4 month old map up to current level so I am looking at a 100 dollar piurchase. I have been trying to get a fully functional home program to work since I bought my Tom Tom.

Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this?

Last tech support person (#5) said ya this is a problem and it will be fixed eventualy... so I have a four hundred dollar paper weight until then?

Please help!

Try a reset on your unit. Redock it and start Home again. Does that help? If not, try uninstalling the application from the unit and reinstalling that.

How do I remove the application from the unit? All I have done is reove and reinatsll Home 2.6 on my PC. Should I reupdate to 2.6.

Without Home:
1. Make a full backup of your unit's contents using Explorer, not Home (which isn't working, anyway).
2. Delete the loose files in the root of the unit, NO folders or their contents.
3. Goto this link:
http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/8.350.gox20.CAB-navcore-GO.cab for the 720 application
OR
http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/8.350.go530-go730-go930.CAB-navcore-GO.cab for the x30 models.

Download the appropriate (compressed) file. Use WinRar to extract the loose files from the compressed cab file and place them in the root of the unit.
