new home update

just downloaded new home. So far everything works. I know that this seems impossible and yes I am saying it, good work tom tom. I know the next person is going to have some problem but I hope not.

Just upgraded to 2.6.1.1549, but weird things occured.

Firstly, in previous version every time I updated my GO 720 I was offered to download Kate (standard TomTom computer voice), but I never did. Now it offers, too, but says "This item does not work on your device. Therefore, it cannot be installed."

Secondly, just before I upgraded HOME to 2.6.1.1549 I updated my GO 720 application to the latest version, but now if I open HOME the first thing I see is "Application update required. Please click 'Update my device' to get the latest TomTom application." But if click 'Update my device' it finds only Kate.

Also, I can't use "Back up and restore" and "Operate my GO" anymore - "You cannot use this feature because it is not supported by your device".

Just update, 2 function no working: backup&restore, operate my go.said you cannot use this feature because it is not supported by your device

Perhaps try uninstalling the Home application and reinstall.

Have been running .1549 here for several days and everything seems normal so far. I was concerned that they would have broken "Operate My Go" like they usually do, but no problems there, either (surprise).

26.1.1549 seems to work fine but after a while it freezes and can only be exited by closing out the program. If I have any other applications running it freezes them as well so it is a computer freeze. I tried to restore my computer but for some reason there is no earlier restore point. (Should have set one before the update.) It also seems to be saving to the TT a lot, ie the Red X comes on even while just navigating. The freeze had never happened before this update.

One thing I wish they would have corrected is this:
When I click on Navigate to - Address -City Centre I get a list of the cities last visited. The first one is highlighted dark blue bar over white lettering very easy to read. However do the same with Navigate to - POI's and select a category and the top of the list is dark blue bar over Black lettering.

Fortunately it doesn't display that way on the TT.

Ain't that the truth! There are a fair number of things that are highlighted with black over dark blue, including selections being made when you create an itinerary.

The coder who came up with this color combination obviously has his monitor set a bit brighter than he is.

Operate My One-XL does not work. TT Support confirmed this is a bug and will be fixed sometime.
How do I go back to 2.5?

Multiple problems with Tom Tom Home to version 2.6.1.1549

You guys are not alone. After the upgrade I have all the same issues. I logged the problems with TomTom. Their solution was to un-install Home and load version 2.3, then update back to 2.6. I did, and nothing changed. I'm still not able to do anything.

I have 4 Go 720s, 1 of them still works OK while my main unit is the one that I'm trying to fix. The only difference is that the bad unit has a 4GB SD card where the other is the standard, no SD card.

Is there something that has changed the operation compatability on the units with the additional memory?

i have removed the tom tom home software from add remove programes as per tech support and downloaded 2.6 and it downloads fine but when i try to use it it starts up 2.3 even thou i download 2.6 then i get runtime error evertime so tech support tells me a soft ware issiue buy it use to work great till i went t o download 2.3 at that time tech support tells me to wait till update to 2.6 still same problem any one have any ideas i am bout at my wits end this will be my las tom tom i ever buy if i cant get tom tom home installed

TomTom 910 and Home Vn 2.6.1.1549

I accepted this update to TomTom Home and now nothing works. The program crashes in Route Planner. and Operate my Device just doesn't. Something seriously wrong with this release and my model

Well, should'a known there'd be something...

Over the weekend, I tried to add some new POI data using Latitude/Longitude via TTHome and the entry is grayed out -- reasons unknown. Real pain in the neck for those of us who need to do it that way. Much easier on a PC keyboard than fat fingering things on the unit itself.
