If they're doing the same as the PNDs, then fixed will be embedded in your map data, but you'll need connectivity to the outside world to get the mobile radar and traffic. So obvious first question - are you getting traffic data? If so, at least we'll know you're 'connected'.

yes getting all traffic info ie road closed traffic jam red dotted lines ?
Umm.. let's be clear here. Not interested in what you are subscribed to -- rather, what you're connected to.

If you are ONLY seeing closed roads (red/white dashed lines) and not the usual traffic slowdowns indicated by solid yellow/orange/red lines anywhere, you're probably NOT connected to the TomTom server.

Thanks for this but how do i connect to the TomTom server ?
i thought that because it is a disability car with the SOS button
it was automatically connected ?
i am 70+ in years and to be honest I haven't got a clue ?
only just started to try a mobile phone ?and im rubbish on that to
and the peugeot dealers are RUBBISH !
but was told to just load the app ?
i feel like ripping the damn thing out and putting it in the bin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is not on the Tomtom servers that you need to connect
You must follow the links above to connect.

Tomtom only sells services to Peugeot.

You bought the car from a Peugeot dealer, so it is the dealer who must help you.

Thank You for all your help !
im just going to purchase a satnav off Evilbay
£35 life time maps ALL fixed cams mobile cams
and redlight cams ?
Though at 70+ no need for REDLIGHT cams LOL
Thank You Willy875,

IF your Peugeot is, as are some newer vehicles these days, providing a WiFi hotspot for driver and passengers, then it has its own cellular connection, and I would imagine that your vehicle would use its existing cellular connection for 'live' data for your navigation system. You'll have to tell us if your specific vehicle does have its own cellular connection. We don't have those models here, so have no first hand experience with them.

If your vehicle does NOT have its own cellular data connection, then you will no doubt use your phone, cellular connected, to get the data to your navigation system using your phone as a WiFi hotspot. Again, it is unlikely that your phone will act as a hotspot unless it's connected to your cellular provider. I haven't seen a phone yet that would provide hotspot service it if was getting its own data from a WiFi connection.

I would hope that Peugeot would have provided a separate manual for their infotainment/navigation system as do other manufacturers. Even my lowly Kia Sorento has one. That's where all of this sort of thing is usually explained.
