I just picked up my TOMTOM One XLS recently, like early April and it rocks, although the updates and new map 715 seemed to have cost me some sounds.
I have the TTS voices, the alerts for POI's that I have selected, but the start up TOMTOM sound is gone, as well as any little icon clicks and ticks that might have been there...??? I don't recall if screen touches to icons made it click or sound like Pong, as the other sales guys' do, but it is bugging me to think I might be missing some "factory settings" after plugging into HOME2.
I'm a firm believer in, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." It seems something from HOME has broken it. (No, I never made a backup...yet!)
Anyway, it rocks, is quite accurate, gets me to remote locations in the dark and fog, when I couldn't visually see 1 car length in front of me at 4:00 AM, heading to tourneys...all in all a great investment! Thanks George Dubya for my soon to arrive Economic Stimulus Plan check!
Anyway, I have read many posts and just registered today. I can see vast knowledge among the posters VS. the apparently NOT so helpful TOMTOM staff overseas.

I'll work on getting some cool pics of my XLS on the dash, lakeside in the dark, because it looks cool seeing the land, water, and star like twinkles in the "night color" mode, with nothing but darkness outside the vehicle. Next tourney is 5-4-08.
