Hey folks, my name is eric. Just got my rider unit. Was using Garmin.
There doesn't seem to be any software instruction anywhere. One of my favorite things to do is plan routes on my pc and transfer to my gps. I'm not sure if that can be done with the rider. What map program do I use? Is it included in the package?
Thanks in advance.
Eric

Thanks, what do you use?
I tried that itn converter but couldn't get it to work cuz I like g maps better than g earth.

I've been trying...keep geting this Error: Parameter 'saddr' not specified.

Of course we could always ask Google to start to make an export to the format TomTom requires (and other Navs to be fair).

Nathan...

I use most of the time this tool to convert routes of different formats:
http://www.routeconverter.de/index_en.html
The author, who is a friend of mine, is actively developing new versions. If you give him your feedback and wishes, he will usually build new functions in this software very quickly.

The bad thing about all these tools is that they are not able to pre-calculate the Tomtom routing. You can only set some waypoints, hoping that Tomtom takes the right route. In Germany we have a PC route planning software that implements almost the same algorithms and therefore is perfect to prepare a route and afterwards convert it to Tomtom. Unfortunately it is not available with US map data.
Has anyone tried "DeLorme Street Atlas" for this? Does it save waypoint information to a file that can be possibly converted by one of the mentioned tools?

Greetings from Germany
Helge
