I have a Tom Tom One new edition and I am wondering can I obtain the new help me software for my tom tom one..It would come in handy If I get lost or an emergency arises..I just do not want to purchase a new tom tom for just that function mine is only 8 month's old and working like a champ..Thanks for any help

The "Help me" function arrived with the FREE Navcore 7.x operating system (firmware) update. If you have a TomTom One version 2 (AKA "New Edition") you can perform the update, but you will have to also consider a map upgrade to get the most complete "Help me" services coverage. I use the 6.75 map set.

What "Version" of the operating system do you have? Tap on the signal strength bars at the bottom of the map screen and read the version in the lower right.

Also, what is the FIRST character of the serial number on the bottom of your TomTom?

Connecting your unit to the Home program should automatically update you with the latest firmware for free.
