I have a TomTom XL. I?m looking for a way to plug in my address book on my computer and simply save it onto my device. I figure it would be under ?TomTom HOME? > ?Operate my XL?. If this isn?t the correct option for what I?m trying to accomplish please tell me! =3 But I?m pretty sure it is. Anyhow, after I click ?Operate my XL? it shows a cartooned version of my TomTom device. It displays the correct time and doesn?t say I have any errors in exception to the screen telling me ?No maps found!. I double click the screen like it asks and nothing happens, basically I?ve fiddled with everything and it responds to nothing. I don?t have errors or bugs on any of my other features or downloads so maybe there is a really simple solution as to why this feature isn?t operating as it ?should??

Halp!

ps.
Still impressed with the product. <3

The TomTom uses Lat/ Long and whilst its possible to input addresses to the device importing a whole list isn't going to be easy - it will certainly take far more than just one step.

Bulk conversion isn't possible but I would look at creating a Custom POI file for the device wilth all your addresses/ contacts etc within it, you might be able to do this on the device Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Add POI Category and Add POI if these menu items are missing this is going to be a little more difficult, not all TomTom products have a full menu these days - Mike

The "No maps found" error isn't normal. Did you buy the unit from ebay or second hand? That error is sometimes a symptom of pirated maps.

Or, perhaps something's wrong with your application and/or maps. To recover from that:
-First, backup your tomtom per here.
-Then do this step to reinstall the application.
-Then see if Operate my XL functions properly

I did as you said, but in order to activate my map I need a activation code that I no longer have. In fact I only have a manual left from my purchase. I hope I don?t need to buy a $55+ map because of a technical error.

Try downloading and running the clear Flash tool found here: tomtom.com/6211

It often helps in this kind of situation.
