My question is:
why, when I use route planner on my laptop or desktop does the map view default on Washington USA (https://plan.tomtom.com/en/settings?p=38.88333,-77.00199,15z) and not my home in Scotland UK?
Secondly how do I rectify this without deleting my data and all of my saved places and routes, but, if I had to resort to doing this would it remove the information from all of my devices also?

First, you aren't actually using https://plan.tomtom.com/en/settings?p=38.88333,-77.00199,15z as your link to the planner, are you? That's just what appears in the browser's address bar after you use the link https://plan.tomtom.com, correct?

The TomTom planner is using what it sees as your IP address in order to approximate your location. Perhaps you've been using a VPN when trying to connect to the planner? Or perhaps TomTom is making a mistake about the approximate location of your current IP address?

If you have a VPN (like Nord, or whatever), you can confirm this behavior by switching to another location and re-running the planner.

For example, I am in Colorado. But if I use Nord and connect to a VPN server in Salt Lake City, Utah, the resulting url from the TomTom planner is https://plan.tomtom.com/en/?p=40.759,-111.8876,6z (Salt Lake), many miles to the west!
